The Oase FiltoClear pressurised filters have been updated with several design changes to improve their reliability, performance, and usability. They feature multiple sets of sponges that filter particles of different sizes, followed by an internal quartz sleeve housing a UVC lamp. This lamp emits ultraviolet light that kills harmful pathogens and algae cells that are too small to be filtered by the sponges. 
 
The FiltoClear Sets include the recommended Oase AquaMax pump for each filter unit, but you can also purchase the FiltoClear range without a pump. Pressurised filters are easy to incorporate into any water feature, whether it's a watercourse, waterfall, or stream. They can be located above or below the water level and can be buried for discreet installation. 
 
The new design improvements include more powerful UVC lamps with higher output for extra UV filtration, a redesigned cleaning handle that requires very little force to compress the sponges during the cleaning cycle, a brand new sponge housing that compresses each individual sponge at the same time during the cleaning cycle, a metal clamp ring with a more ergonomic lever function that is easier to use and more secure under pressure, a redesigned and simplified waste valve for a more efficient cleaning process and clear hose tails with a blue flow indicating o-ring that can be used to estimate the current flow through the filter based on the angle of the indicator on the o-ring. This is a great way to easily tell when the FiltoClear is backed up and needs a cleaning cycle. Furthermore, the filter and pump can continue to run when the ballast unit is removed for regular servicing or when changing the UV lamp.
 
We strongly recommend these filters are only used for goldfish ponds, stocked at 1 fish per 100 litres. These filters are not suitable for larger species.
