Free nutrients, mainly phosphate, are the primary cause of algal bloom and sludge accumulation in lakes. The organic component of sludge also contains free nutrients. Removing the sludge increases the water capacity of the lake and decreases the likelihood of green and blue-green algal bloom.
 
SchlixX Plus releases oxygen and specially bred natural micro-organisms into the sludge, resulting in the following effects: the oxygen released loosens up the sludge and causes the phosphate to become insolubly bonded into apatite. In addition, the specially bred micro-organisms use the oxygen to consume the organic matter in the sludge. SchlixX Plus adds oxygen to the sludge, making it easier to consume, and binds phosphate, depriving algae of nutrients. Please note that SchlixX Plus should only be used in self-contained, isolated bodies of water.
