Water features can add a touch of beauty and movement to gardens while also providing the soothing sound of water. The Aquascape "Fountainscape" system is an excellent solution for creating consistent, reliable, and long-lasting water feature installations. It consists of an AquaBasin water feature reservoir that houses a pump, which feeds water to a free-standing feature placed on top of the reservoir. The water cascades down the feature and spills back into the reservoir.
 
Aquascape AquaBasin Water Feature Reservoirs play a vital role in any water feature system. They store water for the feature and house the pump that feeds water to it. Constructed from UV protected, professional-grade HDPE (high-density polyethylene), the AquaBasin 45 reservoirs are designed to maximize volume, water catchment, and strength. They are also light enough to be easily moved into position on-site and can support up to 680kg despite weighing only 27kg. They can hold up to 370 litres of water, reducing the risk of the pump running dry due to evaporation or water loss. The top of the reservoir is designed with raised circular elements for increased strength and rigidity that can be drilled through with a core drill to enable pipe work or power cable to be run to the base of the water feature.
 
Installing the reservoir is easy. You just need to excavate the correct-sized hole and place the reservoir in it. The sides of the hole should then be backfilled with soil and tamped down to keep the reservoir securely in place. Ensure that the reservoir remains level on all sides using a spirit level. You can create and attach a "bib liner" around the reservoir to increase the catchment size, further reducing water loss. Once installed, you can use rocks and stones to cover up the black plastic while still allowing water to return to the reservoir.
 
Pumps can be housed within the corner section of the reservoir that features a lid that allows easy access to the inside of the reservoir. The lid also features a cut-out for power cable entry into the reservoir, allowing the cable to be hidden out of sight.
