Water is filtered through layers of gravel in a wetland filter chamber. This process removes sediment and excess nutrients from the water. The cleaned water then flows back to the pond through gravity. The use of stones in this system provides a large surface area for healthy bacteria to grow. This filtration system can be customized to suit the needs of large ponds with large fish stocks.

The Aquascape Centipede Wetland Modules are a crucial part of the filtration system. They have a 3" pipe inlet on one end (for large centipedes only) to connect to the pump. The other end is open to push-fit onto the Snorkel vaults or other centipedes, making them modular and suitable for filtering even the largest of ponds. The wide chamber within the Centipedes quickly reduces the velocity of water entering the system, allowing larger solids to settle out while smaller particles are carried through the filtration bed.
